Personal PC Update

Personal PC Update was a Project Management 5 part project using Microsoft Project 2007. The requirement for the class was that this had to be a techinical project. I, therefore, did my project on how I build my latest personal computer.

As you look over this project you will notice two large gaps of time. I determined that my Dell Dimension 4500 was locking up for 10 minutes at a time because it couldn't handle compiling C# in Visual Studio 2008 or Java (either the plugin for the Firefox or the JDK for developing programs). Then, I decided that the best way to get a new computer was to build it. My mistake with buying a computer last time was that I didn't look into the architecture changes and bought a system that couldn't be upgraded. My previous system had lasted six years but it already was hampered performance wise at three years. So from November to May, I waited to see if Intel and AMD would release their new architecture. In May, I checked my system to see if I could salvage anything.

The second big gap was from June through December. During this time, I saved up the money and review the hardware options. Also, I need to wait until there was a block of time where I wouldn't be using my system for classes.
